Valencia-based Jeff closes €83 million Series C funding round between equity and debt – Valencia-based Jeff, which helps entrepreneurs start and run their businesses, announced an €83m Series C funding round backed by Stelac, DX Ventures, Clean Ventures, and Prism. Existing backers Nalpa and Alcor also participated.

The funding has been split equally between debt and equity and comes at a time when the company is aiming to be profitable this year.

ToolJet Raises $4.6M in Pre-Series A FundingToolJet, a San Francisco, CA-based open-source low-code application development platform for building and deploying business applications, raised $4.6m in a pre-Series A round of funding.

The round was led by Nexus Venture Partners with participation from January Capital, Ratio Ventures, Better Capital and angel investors such as Nicolas Dessaigne ( Co-founder at Algolia & group partner at YC ), Rohith Salim ( Co-founder of Spotdraft ) and others.

ION Mobility Closes US$18.7m in Series A funding; Brings TVS Motor Company on Board as Strategic Investor – ION Mobility (ION) today announced new investments of US$18.7 million in its Series A funding round. Additionally, the company also brings TVS Motor Company on board as its strategic investor, through TVS Motor’s Singapore subsidiary, TVS Motor (Singapore). As part of this investment agreement, TVS Motor will provide ION with the necessary ecosystem support to be successful in the electric two-wheeler markets of Singapore and Indonesia.

Window mini-split air conditioner company secures Series A funding – Faced with the age-old quandary of how to cool residential buildings during the summer without central air HVAC systems, compressors that drain the grid and cause system outages, or toxic refrigerants harmful to the environment, a San Francisco start-up has devised a window-mounted mini-split air conditioner (AC).

According to the International Energy Agency, the number of AC units in buildings across the world is projected to hit 5.6 billion by 2050. Current HVAC systems—built by industry incumbents whose product design hasn’t changed in decades —are damaging the environment.

Grocery deliverer JOKR doubles down on Brazil as it secures $50M on $1.3B valuation – After a challenging few months that included closing markets, instant grocery delivery company JOKR told TechCrunch it raised about $50 million in a Series C investment on a $1.3 billion post-money valuation.

The funding, which The Information first reported that JOKR was seeking last September, follows a $260 million raise announced in November 2021. However, with the valuation the company is getting a slight bump, up from the $1.2 billion pre-money valuation from the Series B

Beek’s Series A and Minu’s Funding Stand Out Among the Week’s LatAm Rounds – Mexican platform Beek, a type of Audible for the Spanish language, announced a US$13 million Series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partner. Mercedes Bent, partner of the VC fund, joined the startup’s board of directors after the round. Existing VCs Greylock and Accel also participated in the round, as well as angel investors including Sam Altman (OpenAI), Dylan Field (Figma), Jorge Mazal (Duolingo), Sebastián Mejía (Rappi) and Alfonso de los Ríos (Nowports).
