Iddris Sandu’s Web3 Startup Spatial Labs Raises $10 Million – Spatial Labs, a web3 infrastructure and hardware company, has raised $10 million in a seed round led by Blockchain Capital, with participation from Marcy Venture Partners.
The company, which was founded in 2021 by Iddris Sandu, aims to create products and shopping experiences using augmented reality. Sandu believes that the “metaverse” is not just a virtual space, but a way to add more context to the real world and make it more enjoyable.
This startup hopes to take on Canva, raising an $11.6M Series A for its design platform – Despite Canva being worth in the region of $26 billion, it appears startups feel there is still plenty to be mined from this “easy-to-use design platform” arena. Admittedly, Professional Adobe tools remain fiddly for most people. Perhaps that’s why Berlin-based startup Kittl has now raised a €10.8 million ($11.6 million) Series A for its design platform that it claims allows people to “easily turn ideas into graphic products.”

Iowa cattle packing plant secures $150 million in investor financing – A planned beef packing plant in western Iowa announced this week that it has received a $150 million investment from a Florida firm.
Cattlemen’s Heritage Beef Company has been working on the proposed packing plant since it was first announced in the summer of 2021. The packing plant will be built on the northern edge of Mills County, just south of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
