Hexagon Bio Closes $77.3M Series B Financing Round – Hexagon Bio said Monday that it has closed a $77.3 million Series B round of venture investment. Previous investors the Column Group, Two Sigma Ventures, 8VC, and Nextech participated, as did new investor Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and several other unnamed financial backers.

The Menlo Park, California-based, metagenome-focused drug-discovery company also said that it has promoted Tara Arvedson to chief scientific officer and hired Victor Cee, former research project team leader for Lumakras (sotorasib) at Amgen, as senior VP for drug discovery. Arvedson had come to Hexagon Bio from Amgen a year ago.

Fable Food Co. raises $8.5 million in Series A round – Fable Food Co., an Australian maker of meat alternatives based on mushrooms, has raised $8.5 million in Series A funding to support product development and accelerate its expansion into the United States and United Kingdom.

Fable Food was founded by a fine dining chef, chemical engineer and mycologist, an organic mushroom farmer and a vegan entrepreneur. The startup offers meat substitutes made with shiitake mushrooms, coconut oil and soy protein that may be found on the menu of restaurants and meal delivery services throughout Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Singapore.

Toggle funding boosted to $15M – New York-based contech and robotics firm Toggle grew its total raise to $15 million following an expansion of its original Series A funding round, according to TechCrunch

The company’s $3 million in additional funding follows its original $8 million Series A round, which the company announced in June 2021. The original Series A was led by Tribeca Venture Partners, which was joined by Blackhorn Ventures, Point72 Ventures and Twenty Seven Ventures, according to the company. New York state has also directed portions of money to the company through its venture capital fund.

Garuda Aerospace Raises $22 Mn In Series A Round – Drone maker Garuda Aerospace has raised $22 million (around Rs 182 crore) in a Series A round, led by early-stage venture capital company SphitiCap.

The round – that also saw participation from other global investors, angel investors and high networth individuals (HNIs) – pegged the company’s valuation at $250 million, according to a statement.  

The startup aims to utilise the funds in research and development (R&D), expansion, product development and upskilling of drone pilots.

ZEEKR competes Series A funding valued at $13B ahead of EU entry and potential US IPO – Geely Holding group announced that its all-electric brand ZEEKR has welcomed a $750 million Series A funding round led by major companies like battery giant CATL. Upon completion of the five member investment, ZEEKR will be valued at $13 billion as it looks to expand to new markets in Europe and a possible IPO in the US.

Beyoncé Backed Hydration Company, Lemon Perfect, Bags Nearly $37 Million In Latest Funding Round – Yanni Hufnagel, Lemon Perfect’s founder and CEO, has confirmed an SEC filing that the Atlanta, GA-based hydration company has raised another $36.8 million in its latest equity deal led by Goat Rodeo Capital Management, just one year after closing a $31 million series A with involvement of internationally famed artist Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

Landytech’s portfolio visibility platform secures $12 million series B – UK-based Landytech has raised $12 million of series B funding to grow its aggregation software platform for tracking investment portfolios.

The series B round is led by New York/London LP fund Aquiline Technology Growth with participation from Landytech’s existing shareholder Adelie Capital.

Boat rental startup Skipperi receives €7m in Series A funding – Finland: Shared-use boating subscription service and peer-to-peer boat rental platform, Skipperi, has secured €7 million in a Series A funding round to make boating more accessible.  

The round was led by Yamaha Motor, with Baltiska Handels Sverige, Matu Capital and HP Capital also participating. It takes Skipperi’s total funding to date to €12.6 million.

Founded by Anna-Leena Raij and Kristian Raij in 2017, Skipperi aims to make boating more accessible and hassle-free than ever before, and will seek to use the new investment to expand into Australia and the United States.

Clinical trial startup Faro Health raises $20M and more digital health fundings – Faro Health, which offers software to help researchers design clinical trials, announced last week it had raised $20 million in a round led by General Catalyst.

Participants in the raise include returning investors Section 32, Polaris Partners, Zetta Ventures, and Northpond Ventures. The startup previously scooped up $15 million in Series A funding.

CaPow Raises $7.5 Million Seed Round Funding to Introduce Battery-Free Perpetual Power Delivery System for Robots in Logistic Centers and Industrial FacilitiesCaPow , a perpetual power solution provider, today announced it raised a $7.5 million Seed round to scale up the commercialization of its battery-free, wireless, energy delivery eco-system for autonomous robotics. This solution provides continuous power for automated robotic environments while eliminating robot downtime due to charging. The round was led by IL Ventures, a VC fund focused on disruptive technologies for legacy industries, with co-investment from Mobilion VC, Payton Planar Magnetics, Doral Energy-Tech Ventures, Mobilitech Capital, and Mr. Ray Nissan , a prominent angel investor.
