Money Fellows secures USD 31 mln in Series B funding round – Egypt-based fintech Money Fellows has raised USD 31 million in series B funding to grow its portfolio of services and expand across Africa and Asia.

The investment round was led by CommerzVentures, Middle East Venture Partners, and Arzan Venture Capital, having as additional participants Invenfin and National Investment Company, as well as existing investors such as Partech, Sawari Ventures, 4DX, and P1Ventures.

LUMIQ raises USD 5.5 million in Series A funding to drive expansion across international financial services and insurance markets – LUMIQ has raised Rs 44.1 crore or $5.5 million in its Series A round led by existing investor Info Edge Ventures. In 2022, this is the 1st round of investment for the Data and Analytics company which builds datastack products and solutions, with a pure Financial Services and Insurance (FSI) focus.

Beihai Biotech Wins Nearly CNY 200 Mn in Series B Funding Round – Beihai Biotech (Chinese:贝海生物), a biomedical enterprise focused on oncology drug innovation, announced that it had completed a Series B financing round of almost CNY 200 million (USD 27.39 million). Yikai Venture Capital (Chinese:羿凯创投) led the round, followed by Valley Capital under Oriza FOFs (Chinese:元禾辰坤金谷资本), Qingdao Hongteng Equity Investment (Chinese:青岛泓腾) and Jinhang Group (Chinese:金航投资). The existing shareholder Shenzhen Guozhong Venture Capital Management CO. LTD. (Chinese:国中资本), continued to invest.

Lumata Health Raises $4 Million in Series A Funding to Scale Eyecare Management Platform – RALEIGH, N.C. and OKLAHOMA CITY. Okla.—Lumata Health, a health care startup based in Oklahoma City, announced $4 million in new venture funding to scale its impact throughout the U.S. The funding round was led by Cortado Ventures, joined with participation by the Wolfpack Investor Network and 30 practicing ophthalmologists across the U.S. Lumata Health currently serves thousands of patients suffering from vision-threatening chronic eye conditions through partnerships with ophthalmology clinics and health systems, according to an announcement.

Auto Motive Power snags additional $4.3M – Auto Motive Power, a Los Angeles-based startup that makes energy management software and hardware, raised an additional $4.3 million in equity funding, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: The additional funding is an extension of the startup’s Series A round in August that had secured $6.8 million of its $10 million target.

Details: Auto Motive Power secured the additional $3.2 million of its $10 million total, plus an additional $1.1 million in follow-on financing, per an amended Form D filed Friday.

Odyssey Therapeutics CEO outlines $168M Series B round

The good times continue to roll for Odyssey Therapeutics.

Last year, the Boston-based biotech secured a $218 million Series A financing round. Earlier this month, Odyssey announced that it raised $168 million in an oversubscribed Series B financing round. New investors include Fidelity Management & Research Company and The Healthcare Innovation Investment Fund, an investment fund associated with SVB Securities, as well as Series A investors like Foresite Capital and HBM Healthcare Investments, among others.
